Baptism Certificates

Passport can generate a Baptism Certificate for any member who has a baptism date on their profile. You can download the certificate as a PDF to print, or email it directly to the member from within Passport.

What you need

  • Admin role in Passport
  • The member's profile must have a Baptism date recorded
  • The member must have an email address on file if you want to email the certificate

Set a baptism date on a profile

Before a certificate can be generated, the member's baptism date must be recorded.

  1. Open the person's profile in Passport.
  2. Go to the Growth tab.
  3. In the Milestones section, locate Baptism.
  4. Enter or confirm the baptism date.

Once a date is saved, the certificate buttons appear automatically.

Download a certificate

  1. Open the person's profile in Passport.
  2. Go to the Growth tab.
  3. In the Milestones section, find the Baptism entry.
  4. Click Generate Certificate.

The button shows Generating… while the PDF is being prepared. Your browser then downloads the file automatically. The filename follows the pattern baptism-certificate-FirstName-LastName.pdf.

Email a certificate to the member

If the member has an email address on file, you can send the certificate directly to them.

  1. Open the person's profile in Passport.
  2. Go to the Growth tab.
  3. In the Milestones section, find the Baptism entry.
  4. Click Email Certificate.

The button shows Sending… while the message is being sent. When it completes, a confirmation message appears at the bottom of the screen: Baptism certificate emailed to [email address].

If the member does not have an email address on file, the Email Certificate button will not appear. Add an email address to their profile first, then return to send the certificate.
