Nearby View
The Nearby View in the Passport mobile app shows you a list of prospects who live or were last contacted near your current location. It is designed for outreach workers who want to make the most of every visit — if you are already in a neighborhood, you can quickly see which prospects are within a short distance and plan additional contacts while you are there.
Mobile app feature Nearby View is available in the Passport mobile app. It is not available in the web admin interface.
What you need
- The Passport mobile app installed on your phone
- Location permission granted to the app
- At least one outreach interaction logged with a location in your database
Open the Nearby tab
- Open the Passport mobile app and sign in.
- Tap Outreach in the bottom navigation.
- Tap the Nearby tab at the top of the Outreach screen.
The app requests your device location the first time you open this tab. Tap Allow when prompted. Without location permission, the list cannot load.
Browse prospects near you
Once location access is granted, the app loads prospects whose last outreach interaction was recorded near your current position.
Each card shows:
- Prospect name
- Last interaction type — the most recent type of contact logged (for example, Door knock, Prayer, or Street conversation)
- Distance — how far the prospect is from where you are right now
- Last contact date — when the most recent interaction was recorded
Prospects are sorted closest first.
Change the search radius
By default, the Nearby tab searches within 5 km of your location. To widen or narrow the area:
- In the Nearby tab, scroll the radius chips at the top of the list.
- Tap a different distance: 1 km, 2 km, 5 km, 10 km, or 25 km.
The list updates automatically. If no prospects appear, try a larger radius or check that your team has logged interactions with location data.
Refresh the list
Pull down on the list to refresh. The app re-checks your current location and reloads nearby prospects. This is helpful if you have moved to a different area since opening the tab.
