Services
A ministry is a thing you belong to. Services is the week — one Sunday at a time, with an order of service, a team rostered against it, and everybody told what time to be there.
That is the whole distinction. Ministries answer "who is on the worship team?" and stay true all year. Services answers "who is playing on the 12th, in what key, and has anybody actually asked them?" — a question that has a different answer every week.
What you can do
- Planners build a running order, drop songs in, and publish it to everyone serving.
- Ministry leaders say how many people each position needs, fill the roster, and see who has not answered.
- Volunteers confirm or decline from a link, with no account and no password.

The order it goes in
Service planning has more moving parts than most of Passport, and they only work in sequence. Skipping a step is the usual reason a schedule comes back empty.
- Define positions — each ministry says what jobs it has and how many of each. See Positions & Teams.
- Tell the service which teams serve at it — under Admin → Settings → Services. That becomes the service's staffing template.
- Create a plan for a date. It copies the template in as its positions.
- Fill the roster, by hand or with auto-fill. See Scheduling Your Team.
- Ask everyone — nobody has been told anything until you do this.
- Publish the plan so the order of service reaches the people serving.
:::warning A plan with no positions is the common dead end It comes from step 2, not step 1. A service with no ministries ticked against it has nothing to staff, so every plan you create for it comes back with an empty roster and no template to pull in. (A ministry with no positions is less dramatic: it still appears, as one slot named after the ministry — enough to see the link, not enough to tell you Sunday is short.)

What this replaced
If you used the old Worship area, everything has moved here and your links still work. Service orders are now plans, and a plan owns both halves of the Sunday: what happens, and who is needed for it. The old service order held only the running order, and the team lived somewhere else entirely.
How it connects
People arrive on a team through Ministries & Volunteers — that is still where somebody expresses interest and gets approved. Services picks up from there and turns a roster of willing people into named people on named dates.
